About the solution
Grandstands are decided before the finishes, not after
The position of the grandstand determines everything that follows: the distance to the pitch, the angle from which the game is seen, the evacuation routes and the way the hall can be reconfigured for a concert or a conference. That is why the useful question at design stage is not “how many seats fit”, but “which configurations must the hall allow over the coming years”.
We work with builders and designers who need a grandstand solution coordinated with the structure, the services and the evacuation plan. We supply fixed grandstands on steel structure for permanent stands and mobile grandstands for spaces that change layout from one event to the next, together with the documentation required in the technical specification.
What we look at in a multi-purpose hall
- whether the grandstands must be folded away between events or stay permanently installed;
- who operates them and how much time is available between two events;
- where mobile elements are stored without blocking circulation.
What the fixed and mobile grandstand solution includes
01
Fixed grandstands on steel structure
Permanent stands, with steps and heights set by the geometry of the hall and by the sightlines required by the project. The structure is coordinated with the existing slab and with the evacuation routes.
02
Mobile grandstands with manual operation
The right choice for halls that change layout occasionally, with their own assembly staff and with storage space provided in the building. Elements fold compactly and assembly is carried out by the venue’s technical team, with no external service involved.
03
Mobile grandstands with electric operation
For halls where the layout changes often and assembly time matters. Operation is chosen together with the client, depending on how the venue is used and on the technical team’s training.
04
Sizing and verification at design stage
We calculate capacity by sector, check the position relative to the pitch and confirm together with the designer that installation and evacuation conditions are met before the order.
Fixed or mobile: how to decide
The choice is not primarily about budget, but about how often the hall changes layout and who does the changing.
Fixed grandstands
- the hall has a stable configuration, season after season;
- seating is permanent and spectators keep the same access route;
- no storage space is planned for mobile elements;
- the building structure allows fixing to the slab or to the steel structure.
Mobile grandstands
- the hall hosts sport, concerts, fairs or conferences in turn;
- the layout changes several times a year;
- storage space and a handling route exist;
- the technical team can carry out assembly in the time available between events.
In many halls the right answer is a combination: fixed stands along the long sides and mobile grandstands on the short sides, where the stage or the pitch moves.
How we handle a grandstand order
01
The plan and the capacity
We receive the hall plan, the sections and the required capacity by sector.
02
Configuration and operation
We establish what stays fixed, what becomes mobile and which type of operation suits the way the venue is used.
03
Technical offer
We send the configuration, the technical data sheets and the information the designer needs for the technical specification.
04
Delivery and installation
We deliver on site, install and verify operation together with you before handover.
What to send us for a grandstand quote
Do not have all the documents at the start? Send what you have — the plan and the capacity are enough for a first proposal.
- the layout plan of the hall or of the stand, with dimensions;
- the required capacity, by sector where there are divisions;
- whether the hall is multi-purpose and which configurations it must allow;
- the preferred type of operation (manual or electric), if decided;
- the installation deadline in the works schedule;
- the technical specification or the client's requirements, if any.
Keep in mind
Based on the plan and the capacity we can send an indicative configuration, without a completed technical specification.

Frequently asked questions about grandstands
The questions that come up most often when grandstands are ordered before the design is complete.
Yes, provided the floor and the slab have been checked for load capacity and levelness. We review the plan and the building section before proposing a configuration, because both the type of grandstand and the fixing method follow from them.
Manual operation means assembly by the venue’s own technical team and suits halls that change layout occasionally. Electric operation reduces assembly time and suits venues where the layout changes often. The choice depends on how the venue is used, not only on the equipment.
It depends on how many seats are folded away and on the folding method. Together with the designer we calculate the storage footprint for the chosen configuration, so the space is planned from the design stage rather than improvised after delivery.
Yes. Grandstands can be delivered ready for seat installation, and seats for general-public or VIP areas are chosen together with the grandstand configuration, so that positioning and fixing are aligned.
